Minnesota Chapter Membership
When you join the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, you also are a member of the Minnesota Chapter. In our state chapter, you can:
- contribute to and receive our online newsletter, El Noticiero
- hear what's going on in the MN Chapter as well other items of interest such as local events, professional development opportunities. Share your knowledge and learn from others in our online Member Forum (join below)
- present or attend professional development seminars
- shape the future of the chapter on the Mesa Directiva
- earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through your professional development, involvement and leadership
- learn about job openings in Minnesota and across the globe
National AATSP Membership
Membership in the AATSP gives teachers valuable opportunities to network with other professionals, as well as engage in fun and informative activities with their peers. The AATSP offers numerous programs that foster professional development for both new and experienced teachers. Another benefit of AATSP membership is a subscription to our highly-respected professional journal Hispania. Members are also eligible for many scholarships for study and travel.
Participation in the National Spanish Exam requires either AATSP membership for the sponsoring teacher or a school sponsorship. We encourage you to join the AATSP so you can challenge your students with this nationally recognized competition.
Both AATSP memberships together cost $45 for a new first-year membership and $65 for subsequent renewals. Students can join and renew for $25 for up to three years.
